Hello from Upton

Hi,
Found your club via a google search of Yorkshire diving clubs...

I'm an ex commercial diver (HSE Part1) and also hold a PADI open water cert along with my wife. These days we are very much softee holiday divers and have never dived together in UK waters. Would be looking to activley join at some point in late November so have joined the forum to find out more.

I no longer work as diver since I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and lost my commercial ticket so I really need to find out what the club's policy on diabetic divers is - I know BSAC clubs cater for this but not sure about PADI.

Kind Regards

Tim

Hello Tim,
Good to have you on board. I too have decided to just dive warm waters  ::)
We are not affiliated with any organisation, PADI or otherwise. Our members are of all persuasions - if you know what I mean  ???
If you have a current diving medical, there is no reason why you cannot join in on our dives.
Look forward to you and your wife being part of SBD.
Cheers
Nick

Hiya Tim,

Welcome to Skipton Buddies.

Are you sure you can't be tempted to dive some UK waters? There are some really excellent dives; some are dark, some are cold, some are muddy, and if you are really lucky you can get all three!

Simon.

An American tourist asks:
"Why do Scuba divers always fall backwards off their boats?"

To which the diver replies:
"If we fell forwards we'd still be in the fuckin’ boat."
