BUDDY DIVERS NEWSLETTER
www.skiptondivers.co.uk

Thank you to all who attended the last meeting, welcome back to Chris, Mr Chairman after his hols. Lots to report so Chris managed to complete the meeting in approx 3 minutes!!! Well done Chris, nice to have you back!

Congratulations also go to Alaisdair on passing his Instructors exams, he is now fully fledged, touting for business and has joined Bill at BTS. Please check out the new section on the Forum ? Below the Surface ? which has offers, details of dive courses, kit sales and hire and Above the Surface which has sailing and navigation courses. He has also offered special discounts for club members, so thanks Alaisdair.

Also a warm welcome to Lynne and Paul who braved the meeting and who are now, newly signed up members, (suggy71 on the Forum). Please say hello on the Forum if you weren?t at the meeting.

After second thoughts we did eventually managed to keep the meeting going for about 40 mins.

North Berwick ? 8 ? 9th August Only 4 people managed to dive on this trip so the club lost some money. A fantastic write up on the Forum from Karen A, please take a few minutes to read it, it was also the International Highland Games in North Berwick that weekend - read into that what you will! I believe Aunty Joan enjoyed herself!

Local Trips ?If anyone is planning either a weekend or mid week trip, please post it on the Forum as there may be other people who would like to join you. There are quite a few midweek divers now, so if you want a trip and have no buddy, post it on the Forum and hopefully someone will take you up on the offer.

As the North Berwick was the last club trip organised for this year, does anybody want a weekend away after the Red Sea trip? Lakes or North Wales maybe? just for a couple of non boat dives and some beers?

Insurance ? just a reminder that Dive Insurance will be required when you renew your membership next time. At ?10.50 per year it?s a small price. Details from www.divermaster.co.uk

If anyone wants dive holiday insurance www.direct-travel.co.uk offers great value for money and is used by many of the club members for individual trips or yearly cover.

First Aid Kit & O2 ? the mask and mouth pieces on the new kit are sealed and are for single use only, so please don?t mess with them unless you actually need one, and please TELL US if you have use them so that we can replace them. As we said before the First Aid and O2 must be returned to JT after each trip please

Red Sea 2009 ? Still going to plan, keep those fingers crossed. The cabins were drawn by lots at the meeting and the happy holidayers have been told which cabins they are in and who they are sharing with. Please remember to buy earplugs asap. Any last minute information will come from JT, please contact him if you are unsure about times, flights or anything else. Hope you all have a marvellous time, roll on Red Sea 2010.

Christmas Do ? I know its months away, but we will need to know if we are having a do and if so what are we going to do and when?. Please bring some ideas to the next meeting along with your diaries.

Forum ? after last months comments about not much on the Forum, we had masses posts this month, write ups, quiz wars and a new format. Thanks again to Dr Neek for all his efforts to keep the Forum looking spic, span and professional. Remember any photos you want us to see, post them in the gallery section.

Things to do this month ?

Come to the meeting Thursday 3rd Sept at Cross Keys, Skipton

Post something on the Forum ? come on! have a go at the quizzes or just give us your comments on a topic

SEE YOU AT THE MEETING
