I did a trip to the Bahamas a couple of years back and did an article for Diver. Had a look on their site and it doesn't seem to be listed any more but I think it was in the June issue 2007 if you have it lying about.
It's priced for the American market with plenty of money coming over from Florida, so by most standards it's expensive. We didn't go to the northern tip of the islands where the Stuart Cove shark feeding set up is. Instead we went to a new centre (Coral Caverns) further south where we dived previously unseen reefs which were absolutely pristine. The best corals I'd ever seen. We also had several completely natural shark encounters; silkies, reef sharks and nurse sharks - all without controversial chumming or feeding. The diving was excellent but priced at $1500 for just 2 dives a day I wouldn't call it value for money.
We were lucky - a friend of ours was the dive guide there and invited us over for free to try the place out, and with flights on Airmiles it was effectively a free holiday. It was great to dive virgin reefs and put our names on a few sites, which I'm sure you'd still be able to do yet - but I'm not sure I'd pay the money they were asking for. However, if you've already been everywhere else, then why not if you can afford it?
