Sue Ryder Care volunteers
« on: March 10, 2011, 12:48:34 PM »
Doesn't time fly??

Its the annual Sue Ryder 'Dip in the Dales' again and they are looking for bank support volunteers.
Our intrepid divers have kindly volunteered their help for the past few years and the Sue Ryder Care organisation are asking if we can support them.
Could you please advise if you are available to help out on Saturday 20th August 2011, usual spot in the Dales.

You preferably need to be a qualified Rescue Diver.

Thanks, look forward to your offer of help for this worthy cause yet again.
 ;D

Thank you Mark. Look forward to seeing you on the 7th.

The organiser would like to borrow two marker buoys - anybody got a couple lurking in your garage??

Cheers guys

Hi Simon,
You should all work together and one of you will step forward as 'tour guide' for the day.
I will supply a contact name and mobile number for on site co-ordination nearer the time.
Thanks again.
Cheers

I spoke to Joe this afternoon, the organiser.  He can't think of anything that will need much preparation and planning for us to be getting on with.  Just for us to be in the water on the day!

Understandably Simon has had to pull out and also Mick has pulled out.

Any last minute volunteers for this worthy cause?

Thanks to Mike and Kaz for stepping up to the mark, much appreciated you two  :-*

54 swimmers started the event and they all finished, good news. Kaz and Mike were stationed at bouy two and three on the 1 mile swim. The water was a balmy 15 degrees, the wind was pretty strong but this didnt put off our volunteers or the intrepid swimmers.
Nice bacon sarnie and coffee to warm up the support divers, end to a pretty good day.
Thanks again Kaz and Mike

Photos of the day are posted
